Rate of Pay: Maryland Minimum Wage

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Location of Position: Elderdice Hall, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157

Duration of Appointment: August 05, 2026 to May 25, 2026

Schedule: Schedule is at discretion of supervisor

Evaluation Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuous basis.

Scope: Provide support to mascot program, perform as the mascot at College sponsored appearances both on and off campus, foster and instill McDaniel pride.

Responsibilities:

• Fulfill requests for mascot both on and off campus.
• Communicate with supervisor in timely manner.
• Instill sense of McDaniel pride and enthusiasm.

Requirements:

• Current undergraduate student at McDaniel College.
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude
• Good customer service skills and good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to wear mascot suit for extended periods of time

Physical Characteristics:
This position requires standing and moving for long periods of time, as well as wearing a mascot suit for extended periods of time with scheduled breaks appropriate for the appearance. The overall setting of the job fluctuates with each mascot request.
