POSITION SUMMARY
Staff armed security posts and provide comprehensive security services for personnel and property across assigned PG&E sites. This full-time position includes operating a company-provided vehicle as part of your daily duties.
This role is ideal for prior military and law enforcement professionals seeking a high-paying, field-based position where their training, awareness, and decision-making skills are put to use every day. You'll play a key role in protecting critical infrastructure while working independently and as part of a professional security team.
PAY TRANSPARENCY/COMPENSATION
Rate of Pay: $55/hr
Firearm and Company Vehicle Provided
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide armed security coverage across multiple assigned locations
- Protect personnel and property with professionalism and vigilance
- Interact with the public in a calm, tactful, and professional manner
- Identify, report, delay, or detain individuals violating rules or posing threats
- Perform traffic control duties as needed
- Monitor for and respond to alarms and emergency situations
- Secure entrances and exits during incidents or emergencies
- Maintain constant communication via radio or company-issued phone
- Follow all Post Orders, General Orders, and company policies and procedures
- Observe, document, and report all incidents and activities accurately
- Provide first aid and CPR when required
- Wear required protective equipment, including body armor
- Maintain required training, firearms qualifications, and physical readiness
- Support safety initiatives and participate in quality improvement programs
- Perform moderate to strenuous physical activity, including running, climbing stairs, and ladders
- Stand for extended periods and remain on post as required
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Engage in frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching throughout shifts
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and extreme temperatures
- Operate in environments with elevated noise levels
- Travel will be required
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs
- Maintain regular, in-person attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Military or law enforcement experience required
- U.S. Citizen with valid Social Security Card
- High School diploma or GED equivalent (U.S. accredited; foreign education must meet equivalency requirements)
- Valid California Driver's License
- BSIS Guard Card
- CPR Certification
- BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit (.40 caliber), or ability to obtain prior to hire
- Ability to complete all required training and maintain certifications
- Ability to pass background screening and U.S. Government suitability requirements
- Ability to pass medical, physical, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Demonstrated firearms proficiency and safe handling practices
- Ability to meet all contract-specific requirements
