Crossing Guard

Morse Pond School

2026-2027 School Year

Hours: 5 hours per week (mornings and afternoons), 10 months per year

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to relate well to children.
  • Good physical health.
  • Knowledge of motor vehicle rules and regulations.
  • Familiar with safe walking and pedestrian procedures.
  • Such alternatives to the above quali?cations as the Superintendent of Schools may ?nd appropriate and acceptable.
  • Reports to the Principal / Assistant Principal.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Report directly to assigned crossing station, punctually, and remain there until the conclusion of assignment.
  • Ensure that children use proper crossing location and that no children are in the street while tra?c is moving.
  • Be alert for present or potential tra?c hazards in the area surrounding the assigned crossing.
  • Submit to the Director of Finance and Operations a written report of any such hazard with a recommendation for remedial steps to be taken.
  • Report for duty in furnished safety vest.
  • Perform such other tasks as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or Building Principal.


WORK SCHEDULE:

Work schedule will coincide with the school schedule for the school year, rain or shine.

SALARY: In accordance with the Non-Union Personnel Guidelines & Benefits
