Position Title: Security Officer

Reports To: Security Supervisor 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining high standards of safety and security across the facility. This position safeguards employees, inventory, property, and all company assets while ensuring compliance with security policies, SOPs, and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and security of employees, visitors, inventory, and assets across the facility.
  • Monitor facility activity and enforce compliance with company policies and state security regulations.
  • Manage access control for employees, visitors, and contractors; log deliveries and escort when necessary.
  • Drive and support delivery operations, including operating the Dodge Ram ProMaster 3500 as assigned.
  • Assist in preparing the facility and staff for emergency situations; help maintain readiness protocols.
  • Evaluate and update security procedures and SOPs in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate with external vendors, regulators, and emergency personnel as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older with a valid Connecticut driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Minimum one year of security experience required; no prior criminal history.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work on weekends when needed.
  • Comfortable driving large vehicles as part of delivery and escort responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills; computer literate with experience in access/video control systems.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00

Schedule: Friday & Saturday 11:00 pm - 7:00 am ( Possibility for more hours during the week for delivery and driving)

Mandatory Training Schedule: Will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm ( 2 Week Training Schedule)

  • 401(k) enrollment after 2 months of employment 
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage beginning the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • Vacation and Sick time accrual after 3 months of employment.
