Job Summary
Ensures and maintains a safe andenjoyable skating environment

EssentialFunctions
-Prevention of accidents by eliminating the hazard or hazardous behavior.
-Enforcing all rules involving policy and operating procedures.
-Educates the skating public to the habits and attitudes of safe recreation and encourages their cooperation and support with good public relations.
-Maintains a level of skating ability appropriate to the demands of skate guarding required to fulfill any emergency procedure for any circumstance on the ice.
-Assists in the maintenance and care of equipment, facilities and environment, providing a safe and sanitary condition (with a good and willing attitude). Including, picking up trash throughout the facility, cleaning restrooms, mopping and sweeping hockey boxes, locker rooms and bleachers, wiping tables down in lobby area when needed, keeping skate rental room clean, trash receptacles throughout the facility checked and emptied as needed, vacuum lobby and meeting rooms as directed, assist in storing tables, chairs and AV equipment when not in use.
-Attends and participates in all required clinics, workshops and meetings.
-Informs the Supervisor of any disciplinary problems.
-Maintains rental skates in good working condition (replaces laces and insoles).
-Instructs public in proper fit of skates, assists customers with lacing skates.

WorkEnvironment
Work is performed in severalenvironments as follows:
1) skating on an ice surface;
2) standing and moving about whilegetting ice skates for customers;
3) traveling to a variety of Citylocations;
4) sitting for extended periods oftime while attending meetings;

Physical Demands
Work will require thefollowing:
1) ice skating, standing andwalking;
2) bending, stooping, pushing,pulling, jumping, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, andclimbing; physical activity
required while doing skateguarding;
3) lifting and carrying 25-50 poundswhile setting up or cleaning up for programs or trouble-shooting problems;
4) Must be able to meet therequirements to obtain First Aide/CPR Training, and knowledge of emergencyprocedures.

Equipment Utilized
Machines and Equipmentused in Work: Telephone, Video, DVD and CD players, AUX cord play, easels,vacuums, maintenance equipment, general cleaning tools; using acellular phone as applicable; hand tools, etc.
