ResponsibilitiesBook, interview, classify and process adults in custody (AIC) into jail.Conduct searches of AIC.Count, control and monitor AIC movement and activity in housing units, modules, cells and open dormitory settings.Monitor suicidal AIC to determine if they require suicidal watch and provide counseling and coordination of medical services.Conduct security and welfare checks and connect AIC with mental health services.Escort AIC to areas and events within the institution, court appearances, personal interviews, medical care and other institutions.Control violent and/or mentally ill AIC; prepare daily count and AIC assignment sheets.Respond to backup calls for medical, AIC assaults and other emergency situations.RequirementsMinimum of two years combined full-time work/volunteer experience, military service and/or education.High school diploma or equivalent.Must be at least 21 years of age.Must be a United States citizen or able to obtain citizenship to attend academy.Must possess a valid driver's license by time of appointment.Must pass a thorough background investigation.Hard SkillsInterviewingClassifying AICConducting SearchesDaily Count PreparationAIC Assignment ManagementSoft SkillsCommunicationCounselingCrisis ManagementCertifications & QualificationsValid Driver's License#J-18808-Ljbffr
