We have an exciting new opportunity and are currently looking to add a Supply Technician to our berthing and maintenance team, supporting the Hampton Roads, VA area. Veterans are highly encouraged to apply!Duties and ResponsibilitiesObtain, temporarily store, and issue all supplies for maintenance and repairReceive, inspect, process, store, issue, turn-in, and exercise control over all incoming supplies at the warehouseConduct inventory checks and maintain accurate inventory recordsResearch discrepancies and process inventory adjustments as requiredOperate automated equipment and material handling equipmentResearch part requests and backorder non-filled issue requestsReview and evaluate purchase requests for complete and accurate informationTrack progress of materials and purchase requests through completionMaintain warehouse organization and follow established warehouse proceduresPerform other qualified duties as assignedExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMessing & Berthing Barge Experience preferredOne (1) year of experience utilizing a Warehouse Management System or performing warehouse duties requiredExperience with stock and inventory control preferredKnowledge of storage methods, warehouse control, and material handling techniques preferredFamiliarity with manual and automated supply accounting systems, logistics principles, and warehouse operations preferredKnowledge of warehouse computer systems and supply center operations preferredQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMust have Security ClearanceMust have Drivers LicenseMust be able to pass a government background checkMust be able to obtain a license to operate material handling equipment within 30 days of selectionMust be detail oriented and organizedMust be able to lift, carry, and transport materials weighing up to 50 lbs.Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders/stairs, and work in warehouse and industrial environmentsMust be able to work around loud noise and moving mechanical equipmentAbility to safely traverse narrow passageways and work in shop environments requiredBenefits401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSpecial ConditionsThis employment position is CONTINGENT upon a contract award to employer for the required services, completion of applicant's favorable employment background investigation, and the ability of applicant to obtain a military base access card and security clearance at all times during the period of employment.Job Type: Full-time, Non-ExemptUnited Support Services, Inc. is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
