Juvenile Probation Officer

ResponsibilitiesSupervise a caseload of juvenile youth.Enforce orders of the court and conditions of supervision.Review rules of probation supervision and special conditions with juvenile and family.Meet with juvenile in office and field.Investigate complaints about juvenile promptly.Prevent future delinquent acts and technical violations through evidence-based practices and supervision.Conduct investigations, prepare social/legal case histories, intake summaries, and probation updates.Transport juvenile to/from appointments, court hearings, community service projects, as well as placement facilities.Conduct drug and DNA tests.Place juvenile on electronic monitoring and monitor status.Perform additional duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in criminal justice, criminology, social work, sociology, psychology, or a related field.Valid Pennsylvania driver's license without infractions that would prevent hire.Self-motivation.Flexibility to adapt to unexpected situations.Capacity to create a sense of purpose.Capacity to anticipate and respond to difficult or dangerous situations.Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build rapport and work cooperatively with others.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Courteous, patient, and professional demeanor.Proficient organizational abilities and attention to detail.Experience maintaining confidentiality.Computer literacy.BenefitsCompetitive benefits package starts first of the month following 30 calendar days.90% employer-paid PPO healthcare with vision and three-tier prescription components.Pension plan.Public employer's equivalent of 401(k).Short-term disability.Term life insurance.Menu of voluntary benefits that includes dental and Aflac.14 annual paid holidays.Other time-off provisions.Starting wage: $19.35/hour x 37.5-hour workweek.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER#J-18808-Ljbffr
