Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically, up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds

Unit staffing description: Techs available work in cardiac monitoring unit and the internal processing area, triage, Unit clerks days and nights

Type of equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors

Documentation system: Cerner

Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend, can't commit to block scheduling, scheduling must meet the needs of the dept.

Floating policy: No floating outside of the ED but must be open to floating to all sections in the ED.

Patient Experience requirements: AIDET, Respectful behavior, Pt Experience to each patient, Boards updated with info and pt updated throughout visit

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, ENPC within 90 days of hire

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set: 2 years experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, high volume 100,000 visit ED. Previous HCA experience preferred.

Must have: 2 years experience as a nurse with at least 1-year experience in ER setting, teamwork mentality, ability to coach and give feedback in real time. Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED.

Advanced skills needed: Must be able to read telemetry monitors and pass the tele exam.

Procedures performed on unit: Certifications Required: See above

Dress Code: (Required uniform) Navy scrubs
