RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME.The Airports Systems Technician is the first line of defense in troubleshooting system outages and restoring service. The incumbent monitors, installs, alters, maintains, and repairs Baggage Handling System (BHS) controls, Domestic Water Controls, Energy Management Control Systems, Storm Water Control Systems, Autoclave Controls, access control system‑managed electronic door and gate hardware, Passenger Boarding Bridge Controls, and other electrical equipment within the City of Fresno Airports Department. In coordination with the Information Services Department (ISD), the technician supports and maintains field‑level hardware components of the Airport's security systems.QualificationsTwo (2) years of experience working with mechanical/conveyor systems, energy management controls, security system hardware components, people‑moving systems and controls or related systems.Valid California driver's license at the time of appointment; proof of license and current driving record must be provided.Ability to pass a TSA‑mandated Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessment (STA).Successful completion of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 10‑year employment history verification, including a criminal history records check, prior to appointment.Successful completion of a Department of Justice fingerprint before employment with the City of Fresno.Selection ProcessWritten Examination (100%): The written examination assesses a candidate's ability to read engineering plans and specifications, establish and maintain good work relationships, and knowledge of the principles and practices of Airports Systems. Candidates must achieve a passing score to qualify for placement on the eligible list.Written examination is tentatively scheduled for the week of: to be determined.The Airports department currently has one vacancy.Applicants must complete an online application.
