Deputy Security Operations Manager – NASA Ames Research Center
Join the team safeguarding one of NASA's leading research facilities. As Deputy Security Operations Manager, you'll serve as an armed supervisor with federal arrest authority, supporting the Site Manager in overseeing security personnel and ensuring the successful execution of all contract security operations.
This role requires completion of NASA training and Federal Magistrate certification, along with a strong commitment to leadership, accountability, and mission readiness in a high-security environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise security personnel, ensuring shift accountability, clear communication of post orders, and readiness to respond to routine and emergency situations
- Support the Site Manager in daily operations, staffing coverage, and overall execution of security services
- Enforce compliance with company policies and maintain, update, and implement security SOPs and operational procedures
- Oversee personnel management functions, including scheduling, records, performance monitoring, inspections, and report review for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and accountability of all site equipment and resources
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal arrest authority and completion of required certifications, clearances, and training
- Strong leadership, personnel management, and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven ability to analyze information, solve problems, and manage multiple high-priority tasks
- Must meet all physical, psychological, firearms qualification, and compliance requirements, including valid driver's license and drug-free standards

USD $150,000.00/Yr.
