Armed Lead Security Officer

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supervise and direct armed security officers assigned to the shift, ensuring coverage of all posts.
  • Issue shift assignments and communicate key updates at the start of each shift.
  • Monitor officer performance during the shift, providing guidance, coaching, and corrective feedback when needed.
  • Perform inspections of officers, posts, equipment, and uniforms to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Respond immediately to incidents, alarms, and emergencies, taking command of the situation until relieved or resolved.
  • Complete and review incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift supervisor reports before end of shift.
  • Ensure enforcement of post orders, access control procedures, and site safety policies.
  • Act as the point of contact for clients, visitors, contractors, and law enforcement during the shift.
  • Maintain professional firearms handling and ensure all shift personnel remain compliant with armed security standards.
  • Support training, drills, and requalification efforts as directed by site management.
  • Report personnel issues, policy violations, or operational concerns to Prosegur Management promptly.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Required minimum 3 years of Security Supervisor experience
  • Must have State Guard License
  • Must have State Armed License
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must possess reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership abilities and the ability to effectively motivate and guide a team.
  • Ability to make clear decisions during crisis or high-stress periods.
  • May be exposed to high levels of noise or variations in weather and temperature.
  • Must be reliable, demonstrate a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior.
  • Proficient computer skills are required (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Experience: Prior service in Military Police, law enforcement, or as a certified corrections officer is required
  • Firearms: Must have own firearm and a valid license to carry; an armed guard license is required in applicable states
  • Training: Certified in arrest control, handcuff, and baton use
  • Screening: Must pass random drug testing and a psychological evaluation (MMPI exam)
  • Physical Fitness: Capable of performing physical duties such as patrolling, responding to incidents, and managing potentially intense confrontations
  • Compliance: Understanding of and commitment to all local, state, and federal security and firearm regulations
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
