The Placer County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the Sheriff's Cadet program. The program is a structured mentorship designed to prepare individuals for a career in law enforcement. Cadets will train with the Sheriff's Office Youth and Community Services Unit to perform routine duties and progressively more challenging non-sworn duties, and will have the opportunity to serve the Placer County community alongside Sheriff's Office staff. Cadets will grow their skills and experience in preparation for entry-level law enforcement positions, such as Deputy Sheriff Trainee.Cadets will be asked to work up to 28 hours over a 7-day period, with the flexibility to choose a schedule between the hours of 0630‑2200, Monday to Sunday.Qualified applicants will undergo an extensive background investigation to determine if they meet the high standards set by the Sheriff's Office in the areas including, but not limited to, high moral character, honesty, and exemplary work ethic.
