This Bailiff position (.5 FTE) will be assigned to the St. Louis County Jail in Duluth, MN. The duties involve receiving and setting up email calendar appointments, taking court data, entering it into the jail management system, and escorting inmates to virtual court appearances.The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.Salary range for 2025 is $20.50 – $26.73 per hour (including longevity pay); 2026 rates pending.St. Louis County does not participate in E‑Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States. St. Louis County does not provide sponsorship for employment visas.ResponsibilitiesAn employee in this class preserves order and control in courtrooms and common areas of the courthouses to ensure the safety of court officials, participants, and the general public. Duties include monitoring and screening individuals, packages and personal items entering and leaving the courtroom using a variety of detection methods and devices; assisting in providing security during heightened security situations; assisting with emergency medical situations as needed; obtaining defendants' identifying information in accordance with applicable laws; directing and escorting non‑combative custodial individuals within the courthouse.
