After COTA, you begin a required 12‑month probationary period.Job DutiesPrimary responsibilities include:Ensuring the security of the inmate population within the facility's perimeterProviding supervision and guidance to inmatesConducting thorough pat and strip searches to maintain safetyEffectively de‑escalating situationsInitiating and completing reports accurately and promptlyFulfilling all assigned post duties diligentlyResponding promptly to emergency situations as requiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Uphold high standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism; adhere to the code of conduct, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate impartiality.Physical Fitness and Stamina: Physical fitness required for standing, performing searches, restraining individuals, and responding to emergency situations.Pre‑Employment RequirementsApplicants must meet:Be at least 18 years of agePossess a High School Diploma or Equivalency Degree (GED)Hold a valid driver's licenseNo felony convictionsProvide proof of legal U.S. residencyEmployment is contingent upon passing a background investigation.
