This position will work a mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts totaling 80 hours in a 14-day cycle. Work either a day, swing, or night shift to include every other weekend. Shift options are Mon-Fri 6am to 2pm (day), 2pm to 10pm (swing), and 10pm to 6am (night). Sat-Sun shifts are 6am to 6pm (day), and 6pm-6am (night).Enforces policies and procedures with all patients/residents, visitors and staff.Patrols and secures facility buildings and grounds as assigned.Monitors conduct of visitors on premises and confronts unauthorized persons for questioning.Reports safety, fire hazards or security violations.Responds to all requests for assistance from employees, patients/residents and visitors.Assists with any and all situation; e.g., problem-solving with positive outcomes.Escort personnel to and from parking areas as requested.Maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.Ability to work with all age groups and prioritize calls for service by urgency based on safety needs.De-escalate highly stressful situations as soon as possible.Maintain awareness of local laws affecting conduct on private property.Demonstrate effective communication, professional report writing, and the physical ability to perform security duties.Be aware that access to areas where medications are stored may be required to perform duties.Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. College or vocational education is preferred.Prior experience in healthcare security, contract security and/or law enforcement is highly preferred.May require a current valid driver's license with Sanford insurability dependent upon region.Basic certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety preferred within one year of hire.Benefits Sanford Health offers an attractive benefits package for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
