Technical Network Expert

AT&T has an opening for a Technical Network Expert to support in design, implementation, and sustainment of high-performance computing (HPC) environments. This role provides critical expertise in network design, advanced troubleshooting, and system integration across Linux, Windows, and UNIX infrastructures. The Technical Network Expert will play a key role in enabling AT&T to deliver innovative, mission critical solutions to our customer. This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered. Work to be performed at government customer site.

Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides Tier 04 support for server operations across all three sites and delivers design/architecture support for enterprise server services.

  • Server platforms: SPARC Solaris, Solaris x64, RedHat, and SUSE; direct-attached and Fibre Channel SAN storage.
  • Client/server services: NFS and CIFS.
  • Large-memory SMP, high-core-count systems.
  • Enterprise client/server configurations.
  • File systems: XFS, GPFS, and VXFS (multi-vendor environments).
  • Blade systems and interconnects (SAN, FC, TCP/IP, etc).
  • Operating systems: RedHat and Microsoft.
  • Messaging and identity services: Microsoft Exchange; Active Directory; Centrify.
  • Infrastructure services/tools: DNS, NIS, Zenoss, SiteScope, HP OpenView, HPSA/HPSE, Splunk, Sendmail, NetQos, Infoblox.
  • End-user access solutions: thin client/virtual bridges, Citrix, NoMachine NX.
  • Virtualization: VMware and Solaris containers.
  • Technology evaluation and integration: engage vendors; architect integration of authorized new technologies, including support for evaluation, government approval, and integration planning.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates shall have a Bachelor's Degree in related field and have ten (10) years of demonstrable experience (15 years experience without degree) in support of a large client-server based IT enterprise.

  • DoD 8570 IAT II level certification required.

Our Technical Expert/Functional Expert Server (Government) earns between $89,200 - $217,170 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
