# Traffic Control Tech I (60666)SAN ANTONIO TRAFFIC CONTROL - SAN ANTONIO, TX 78266## DescriptionTraffic Control Tech I positions required an applicant be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Texas driver's license. Unfortunately we do not currently have positions that do not require a driver's license.\*\*Pre-employment Drug Screen required\*\*A Traffic Control Technician (TCT) in Texas plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe flow of traffic. Here's a breakdown of responsibilities and tasks:1. **Installation and Maintenance**: Responsible for setting up and maintaining traffic control devices such as traffic signals, road signs, barriers, and pavement markings. This includes installing new equipment and repairing or replacing damaged items.2. **Traffic Management**: During road construction, accidents, or other incidents, a TCT will implement temporary traffic control measures to manage and redirect traffic safely. This often involves setting up cones, barrels, and signs to guide drivers and ensure roadwork is conducted safely.3.**Inspection:** Regular inspections of traffic control equipment to ensure everything is functioning properly. Ability to read, understand and carry out verbal instructions and present questions when instructions are unclear5. Ability to maintain a positive attitude6. Mechanical aptitude, performing routine maintenance and repair on equipment7. Map reading skills with the ability to find locations, navigate to job sites and navigate back to warehouse8. Complete deliveries when needed9. Knowledge of various tools and equipment used in the field and ability to select the appropriate tool or equipment to perform task at hand10. Ability to operate in an organized and time efficient manner11. Ability to speak clearly and convey information to others in an effective manner12. Ability to take direction from Traffic Control Crew Chief or take initiative if exact direction has not been assigned13. Ability to work extended hours, days, and weekends when necessary14.
