Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and dispatch loads for flatbed, stepdeck, and specialized trailers (RGN, double drop, etc.)Secure profitable freight using load boards and broker relationships such as DAT Load Board and TruckstopNegotiate freight rates with brokers and shippers to maximize truck revenue and minimize deadhead milesCoordinate oversize and overweight (heavy haul) shipments, including permits, routing, and escort requirementsSchedule pickups and deliveries while ensuring compliance with customer timelines and driver Hours of ServiceCommunicate daily with drivers to track location, resolve issues, and provide routing instructionsEnsure proper equipment assignment based on freight dimensions, weight, and securement requirementsMonitor load progress and proactively resolve delays, breakdowns, or scheduling conflictsCoordinate permit loads across multiple states, including pilot cars and route restrictionsMaintain accurate load records and updates in the company's Transportation Management System (TMS)Build and maintain relationships with brokers, shippers, and customersProvide drivers with load details, including pickup instructions, securement requirements, and delivery proceduresEnsure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulationsPlan backhauls and reload opportunities to reduce empty miles and increase efficiencyResolve billing issues and confirm rate confirmations before dispatching loadsOther duties as assignedQualifications Flatbed / Stepdeck Dispatcher (Heavy Haul Experience)2+ years dispatching experience with flatbed, stepdeck, or specialized freightHeavy haul (HH) experience a plus, including oversize/overweight load coordinationStrong knowledge of permits, escort requirements, and routing for oversized loadsExperience dispatching flatbeds, stepdecks, RGNs, and specialized trailersAbility to coordinate loads across multiple states and ensure compliance with DOT regulationsProficiency with load boards such as DAT Load Board, Truckstop, or similar platformsStrong communication skills for working with drivers, brokers, and shippersAbility to negotiate freight rates and maximize truck profitabilityExperience planning multi-stop routes and backhaulsFamiliarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and basic Excel or spreadsheet trackingAbility to manage multiple drivers and loads simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentIncentives Bonus opportunitiesCompensation Plan with Incentive Bonus ProgramHoliday Pay (New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas)PTO (paid time off)Health InsuranceVision InsuranceGroup Life Insurance ($20k coverage fully paid by employer)Voluntary Life InsuranceShort Term DisabilityLong Term DisabilityHospital Indemnity InsuranceCritical Illness InsuranceFlex Spending Account (FSA)HRACan't Find What You're Looking For?
