ISE Physical Security Generalist

Colorado Springs, CO

Nooks is pioneering Classified-Infrastructure-as-a-Service (CIaaS) — designing, building, and operating Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and other secured, classified environments for the defense and national security community. We work with the agencies, contractors, and mission-driven organizations that keep the nation safe, delivering the physical infrastructure that makes classified work possible. We're growing fast, operating across multiple markets, and building a company that takes both the mission and the business seriously.

About The Role

We are seeking a Physical Security Generalist to support the US Space Force classified enterprise. This is a hands-on role focused on the execution and sustainment of physical security requirements for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and other classified spaces.

The Physical Security Generalist will work under the direction of the SSO and senior security leadership to support SCIF operations, inspections, documentation, and compliance activities. This role emphasizes implementation, coordination, and continuous compliance, rather than program ownership or final approval authority.

Key Responsibilities
1. SCIF Operations & Compliance Support
  • Support the day-to-day physical security operations of accredited SCIFs in accordance with ICD 705 and applicable DoDMs/AFMANs.
  • Assist with SCIF accreditation, re-accreditation, and change management activities by preparing documentation and tracking compliance actions.
  • Maintain accurate records related to SCIF accreditations, inspections, waivers, and security incidents.
2. Physical Security Systems & Access Control
  • Administer and monitor physical access control systems (PACS), including badging, card readers, and access logs.
  • Support alarm system testing, maintenance coordination, and response procedures in coordination with monitoring services and on-site personnel.
  • Enforce visitor control procedures, including verification of access approvals, visitor badging, and escort requirements.
3. Construction Security & Facility Changes
  • Support construction security activities for new SCIF builds or modifications to existing facilities.
  • Assist with the review of construction plans, drawings, and change requests to ensure alignment with physical security requirements.
  • Coordinate with facilities, construction, and IT teams to ensure maintenance and upgrades are executed in compliance with ICD 705.
4. Risk Management & Incident Support
  • Assist with physical security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for classified spaces.
  • Support the documentation and reporting of physical security incidents or anomalies.
  • Track corrective actions and mitigation measures to closure under the guidance of senior security leadership.
5. Training, Audits & Coordination
  • Support physical security awareness and facility access training efforts.
  • Assist with internal self-inspections and external compliance audits (e.g., DCSA or customer-led inspections).
The Skillset
  • Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in Physical Security or SCIF operations within the U.S. Defense Industrial Base or Intelligence Community.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of ICD 705 and related DoD/IC physical security policies.
  • Systems: Experience with physical access control systems, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and alarm monitoring processes.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an Active TS/SCI eligibility clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must be capable of maintaining eligibility up to the Top Secret/SCI level within 45 days of hire.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to follow technical and regulatory guidance.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to read and interpret basic facility drawings and security system layouts.
