Overview
The Recreation Coordinator II manages recreational activities including recreation programs, rentals, special events, and open recreation. This position is responsible for all aspects of the Recreation Center facility to include maintenance, revenue, programs and administrative paperwork. Primary objective is to ensure City wide Youth and Adult recreation and Athletics programs are supervised.
Responsibilities
• Develops and implements recreational programs by organizing and maintaing programs and After school, summer, weekends, special events, community events, workshops and evenings
• Assists with marketing programs and surveys; implementing measurements programs to include staff, equipment, location, and overall safety programs for participants
• Networks with community agencies to collaborate on programs
• Oversees supplies and equipment; follow up on any work orders and maintenance projects by ensuring the facility is clean and properly set up
• Provides customer service by maintain a professional image and attitude for internal and external customers; disseminating information on all city policies and programs to subordinate staff
• Supervises facility employees by monitoring all staff including permanent, seasonal contract, volunteer, and community service workers
• Prepares weekly staff schedules and assignments by training and evaluating staff performance daily
• Completes administrative duties by making recommendations and assisting with the budget, calculating, approving or denying scholarships and preparing all deposits and revenue
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge and skills by keeping required license/certification current
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
• Non -Exempt - Full-Time
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications
• Associate's degree (AA/AS); 2-year technical certificate
• Three (3) years of experience
Certifications, Licenses or other requirements
Required
• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
Required within Thirty (30) days of hire
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
• Food Managers Certification
Required within Ninety (90) days of hire
• CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor Certification
