The Mechanic/Marine Technician's responsibility is to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on our customers marine craft. They must meet customer satisfaction standards as well as company sales and safety requirements.This position requires the team member to work 5 days per week and 8 hours per day during the busy season. This schedule may be altered to a 4-day workweek and 10 hours per day in the off season, with management approval. Marina operating hours range from 5:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., and seasonal schedule changes may take place at management discretion.Duties & ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair marinized enginesRepair propulsion components such as gear cases, stern drives, etc.Diagnose and repair carbureted and fuel injected intake systemsPerform winterization and summarization of engines and boat systemsSolid understanding of 12V and battery bank systemsInstallations such as new engines, pumps and others as assignedPerform mechanical repairs on boat equipment including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, etc.Demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills and abilitiesPerform other duties as assigned or apparentMinimum Qualifications and RequirementsAct with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitudeHigh school diploma required3-6 years of experience in the performance of mechanical repair and installation OEM certifications preferred, but not requiredAbility to speak and read English and understand electrical wiring diagramsAbility to use test instrumentsAbility to use specialty tools as designated by OEM'sMust provide tools and test equipment Specialty tools and diagnostics providedElectrical troubleshooting experienceMust be able to meet the physical requirements of the jobStrong work ethic and personal commitmentAbility to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goalsAbility to be a self-starter and work independentlyWillingness to work on a variety of internal combustion engines (diesel, inboard, outboard, etc.) Diesel-only experience is welcome!Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 75 lbsAbility to work comfortably around waterAbility to work in tight spacesAbility to work at heights of up to 30 feetStand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, crawl, bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, grasp#J-18808-Ljbffr
