The Security Officer works under the supervision of the DIRECTOR – Security and the Security Managers. The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all persons, equipment, and physical property of Mosaic Life Care.ResponsibilitiesConduct patrols of the buildings and grounds, ensuring adequate access control and protection of caregivers and all Mosaic Life Care properties, and respond to armed threats, bringing a safe resolution to the threat or situation.Conduct inspections of the facilities looking for unsafe acts and/or conditions that threaten life safety.Operate in a stressful environment where persons have experienced life‑threatening injuries and death.Control persons who are behaving in an unacceptable manner via non‑violent physical crisis intervention techniques (CPI) or the approved Force Continuum action, or other accepted practices dependent upon the circumstances.Participate in positive public relations activities by providing assistance with information, directions, and vehicle management.Document activities and reports daily, providing information to leadership. Officers maintain all equipment and vehicles in a constant state of readiness.Coordinate traffic and crowd control during emergency situations and provide direction as necessary or requested.Respond and investigate incidents in a timely manner, effectively documenting the facts of the case, taking photos of the crime scene, and securing evidence.Direct and/or assist Security Officer (I) in performance of duties during their shift.Other duties as assigned.EducationHigh School Diploma—GED or HiSET equivalent—RequiredTwo years of college preferably in criminal justice, fire safety, or post‑certified police academy—PreferredWork ExperienceTwo years in a position dealing with the public, preferably in law enforcement, fire safety, military security, or federal (DHS Department of Homeland Security)—RequiredLicenses and CertificationsMinimum of a Class E Chauffeur's Driver's License—Required within 90 daysCompletion of the Mosaic Security Officer's Firearm Course—Required upon hirePass a mental health evaluation to prove fit to carry a firearm by a licensed psychologist provided by the organization—Required upon hireCPI: Nonviolent Crisis Intervention—Required within 90 daysHAZMAT Training—Required within 90 daysCompletion of the International Association of Hospital Safety and Security basic Security Officer Exam—Preferred within 120 daysTravel RequirementsMust be able to travel between various system facilities and off‑site locations as needed—RequiredJob InfoJob Identification 1490Job Category Business ProfessionalPosting Date 05/14/2026, 02:14 PMJob Shift EveningsLocations 5325 Faraon St, Saint Joseph, MO, 64506, US (On‑site)#J-18808-Ljbffr
