Shift length: 10 hours.Job Summary The Security Officer is part of an organized hospital-wide program that promotes the personal safety of employees, physicians, volunteers, patients, visitors, and others with business at the hospital. The Security Officer is responsible for protecting, preventing, observing, and reporting any situations concerning the hospital, and taking appropriate action when necessary, including responding to emergencies in a calm and effective manner.Responsibilities • Protect the safety and security of the hospital environment.• Observe and report events or conditions that could be a safety or security concern.• Take appropriate action and coordinate with law enforcement or hospital staff when necessary.• Produce concise, accurate, and well‑written incident reports.• Maintain a courteous and professional public‑relations presence.Education & Training Previous security experience desired.College level courses in law enforcement, security, or related field, or completion of basic law enforcement training.Hospital experience preferred.Previous customer service experience beneficial.Licenses & Certifications California State Consumer Affairs Guard Card (obtained within 90 days of hire).Current CPR certification (American Heart Association – Health Care Provider or American Red Cross – Professional Rescuer) within 90 days of hire.Skills & Knowledge Ability to stand for long periods.Follow instructions, policies, and procedures.Produce clear, accurate written reports.Strong public relations skills.Effective calm response to emergencies.Capability to fulfill essential functions of the position.Benefits $0 premium medical plan, including vision insurance.Prescription and dental group insurance.Retirement plan with employer match.Generous paid time off (PTO) accruing immediately.Extended sick leave.Flexible Spending Accounts for unreimbursed medical expenses and dependent care.Employee Assistance Program.Educational assistance.#J-18808-Ljbffr
