A CDL holder and/or climbing experience is preferred. This position serves the Dayton, Ohio region and surrounding areas.Job DutiesWhat You'll Do:Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.Maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson.Advance your height as you grow professionally.QualificationsWhat We're Seeking:Love of the outdoors.Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.Valid driver's license (required).Commercial Driver's License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement (preferred).Line clearance experience or other related tree work (preferred).Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law (preferred).BenefitsHourly rate $24.00 – $26.00 based on line clearance/industry experience and/or if a CDL holder.Group health plans.Short‑term and long‑term disability insurance.Life insurance.Paid parental leave.401(k) with up to a 4% company match.Employee Stock Purchase Plan: opportunity to buy company stock at a 15% discount.Holidays and paid time off.Payroll savings plan.Charitable matching gift program.Employee referral bonus program.Employee educational scholarship.Davey family scholarship.20% discount on all Davey services.Cell phone discounts.Vehicle purchase discount program.And more.* All listed benefits are available to eligible employees on Day1.** Union employees are not eligible for a 401(k) plan but may be eligible to join pension plans negotiated by their local union.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Full‑time hourly position.
