This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on DOCSIS systems, CMTS interoperability, lab validation, and advanced troubleshooting across DOCSIS broadband deployments. The role emphasizes test lab ownership, root-cause analysis, and close collaboration with chipset vendors and customers to ensure high-performance and stable DOCSIS gateway solutions.You will work closely with global R&D teams, CMTS vendors, and silicon providers to drive end-to-end DOCSIS validation, interoperability, and performance optimization for DOCSIS 3.0, 3.1, and emerging 4.0 technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesLead DOCSIS lab setup, validation, and qualification activities, including interoperability testing with CMTS platforms.Design and execute comprehensive DOCSIS test plans covering performance, provisioning, stability, and feature validation.Drive root cause analysis of complex DOCSIS issues using logs, packet captures, and system-level debugging.Troubleshoot field and lab issues using:Wireshark / tcpdumpCable modem & gateway logsSNMP and telemetry dataLinux debugging tools (gdb, strace, etc.)Collaborate with CMTS vendors and SoC/chipset providers (e.g., Broadcom, MaxLinear) to resolve interoperability and performance issues.Analyze DOCSIS behaviors across layers (PHY/MAC/IP) and identify bottlenecks or failures.Support customer deployments and field issue reproduction, providing deep technical insights and resolutions.Guide and validate DOCSIS provisioning workflows:DHCP / TFTP / TODConfig files (TLVs)Security, certificates, and PKI handlingEnsure robustness of firmware upgrade flows, secure boot, and DOCSIS security mechanisms.Maintain and enhance lab infrastructure, automation, documentation, and internal knowledge base.Provide technical input on DOCSIS roadmap, standards evolution, and future feature development.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong hands-on experience with DOCSIS 3.0 / 3.1 (DOCSIS 4.0 knowledge highly preferred).Proven expertise in DOCSIS test labs, CMTS interoperability, and system-level validation.Strong experience in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of DOCSIS/network issues.Deep understanding of:DOCSIS provisioning flows (DHCP, TFTP, TOD, TLVs)Certificates, PKI, and security mechanismsProficiency with debugging and analysis tools.Solid networking fundamentals:IPv4/IPv6, NAT, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, SNMPExperience working with CMTS platforms and chipset vendors (Broadcom, MaxLinear, etc.).Strong ability to analyze logs, identify patterns, and isolate root causes across system layers.Experience with embedded Linux environments (debugging focus; deep development not mandatory).Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, and work with cross-functional/global teams.GCS is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.#J-18808-Ljbffr
