Flex Security Officer (Portland)
Servexo USA is hiring a Flex Security Officer to provide consistent, professional security coverage at our VA Medical Facility contract in Portland, Oregon. This is a part-time position with a set Monday through Friday schedule — perfect for a securityprofessional looking for steady part-time hours with the occasional opportunity to support our broader network of VA sites across the region.
As a Flex Officer, you will report to the main Portland post every weekday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. On most days, you will work your regular post through the end of your shift. On days when a sister site needs coverage, you may be directed to travel to that location — and you will remain on the clock for the duration of your workday. Either way, you show up, you work, and you make a difference for the veterans we serve.
Your Daily Schedule:
- Report to the main Portland post Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Full Servexo USA uniform is required every day — no exceptions
- Clock in at the start of your shift and clock out at the end — accurate timekeeping is required
- If coverage is needed at a sister site, you will be directed to travel there and remain on the clock for the remainder of your shift
- If no coverage is needed, you work your regular post through 12:00 PM and clock out as normal
- For upcoming planned time off at the sister sites, you will be required to cover the post. We will provide at least 1 day advance notice.
Pay:
- $25.00 per hour
- 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday
- Mileage reimbursement provided for sister site travel. A completed mileage log must be submitted for each trip
Coverage Area:
When sister site coverage is needed, you may be asked to travel to one of the following locations. Sites requiring 2–3 hours of travel are eligible for mileage reimbursement:
Portland VA - Portland, OR 97204
West Linn VA - West Linn, OR 97068
Hillsboro VA - Hillsboro, OR 97006
Fairview - Fairview, OR 97024
Salem VA - Salem, OR 97302
Bend VA - Bend, OR 97701
What You'll Do:
- Report to your assigned post daily in full uniform and on time
- Conduct access control, monitor entry and exit points, and enforce site-specific security protocols
- Provide an exceptional customer service experience to every veteran, family member, and staff member you encounter — with the highest level of respect and courtesy
- Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, disturbances, or requests for assistance
- Complete accurate daily activity logs and incident reports as required
- Travel to and cover sister sites when directed, and submit a mileage log for eligible trips
- Clock in and out accurately every day
- Maintain open communication with your supervisor regarding your shift, any issues, and your availability
Requirements:
- Active and valid Oregon State Security Officer License — required before your first day
- Reliable personal transportation — you must be able to travel to sister sites across the Portland metro area, Salem, and Bend
- Willingness to travel up to 2–3 hours for sister site coverage when directed
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM consistently
- Professional appearance and commitment to wearing full uniform at all times
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine respect for veterans and commitment to treating every person with dignity
- Punctuality and reliability — this role depends on you showing up every day
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in security at VA, healthcare, or government facilities
- Experience working with or serving veterans
- CPR / First Aid certification
- Familiarity with access control procedures and professional report writing
Who This Job Is For:
This is a great fit for a security professional who wants steady part-time hours with a consistent schedule. If you are dependable, comfortable with travel, and passionate about serving veterans — we want to hear from you. You do not need to be available around the clock. You just need to show up every weekday, in uniform, ready to work, and willing to go where the team needs you.
