What ACESGroup OffersWork at the best places;Are passionate about delivering excellent service and keeping people and places safe;Offer extensive training, development and career opportunities;Provide long term careers within great teams.About The RoleFull-time permanent positions available; 24/7 rotating roster Monday to Sunday on a 12 hour shift, 4:4 pattern with flexibility to work additional hours (overtime) as required.We are looking for a highly capable and decisive Duty Shift Manager – Security (Aviation) to lead and coordinate all aviation security operations during assigned shifts.This is the last remaining DSM vacancy—a pivotal role critical to ensuring compliance with all aviation security regulations, protecting passengers, staff, and airport infrastructure, and maintaining a secure and efficient operational environment.Previous experience in aviation security management is essential — this role requires someone who can confidently navigate the complex and high-pressure airport environment while maintaining strict regulatory standards.As the senior security representative on shift, you will be responsible for managing real-time security operations, leading a team of security personnel, responding to incidents, and acting as the key liaison with government agencies, law enforcement, and airline partners.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the delivery of aviation security operations across screening checkpoints, access control points, perimeter security, and other sensitive areasEnsure full compliance with all relevant aviation security legislation, including the Aviation Transport Security Act, Regulations, and local SOPsMonitor CCTV systems, alarms, and intelligence systems to identify potential threats or irregularitiesConduct regular security audits and patrols to ensure procedures are followed and risks are mitigatedLead, supervise, and support a team of Aviation Security Officers and Team Leaders during the shiftConduct shift briefings and ensure all staff are informed of daily priorities, threats, and procedural changesProvide on-the-ground coaching, mentorship, and performance management for security personnelCoordinate rostering changes and redeploy resources as needed to maintain optimal coverage and responseAct as the Incident Controller for all security-related incidents, including threat assessments, evacuations, unauthorized access, or aggressive passengersLiaise with Police, Border Force, Aviation Security Inspectors, and emergency services during escalated incidentsLead post-incident debriefs and prepare detailed reports and recommendationsBuild strong working relationships with airline security managers, terminal operators, ground handlers, and retail tenantsProvide timely communication and support to airport stakeholders during high-alert situations or disruptionsEnsure all shift activities are compliant with Department of Home Affairs (DHA) regulations, Transport Security Programs, and relevant risk management frameworksManage and maintain all security reporting, logs, and escalation documentation to audit standardsSupport inspections, audits, and investigations conducted by regulatory bodies or internal compliance teams.Skills And ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of experience in Aviation Security, including frontline supervisory or managerial rolesIn-depth knowledge of aviation security regulations, protocols, and threat managementExperience managing shift-based teams in high-pressure, security-sensitive environmentsStrong incident response and investigation skillsCustomer service experience, with excellent customer service and resolution skillsAbility to interpret legislative frameworks and understand operational documents including operational plans, emergency plans, safety management systems and proceduresHigh level observation skills, and attention to detail including sustained focus (vigilance)Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure and work independently under limited supervisionAbility to multi-task efficiently, and maintain strong customer service skillsImpeccable presentationFull availability Monday to Sunday day and night shifts.QualificationsNSW Security License, 1A minimumCurrent Class C Driver licenceCertificate II in Security OperationsCurrent First Aid and CPR certificationFire Warden and Chief Fire Warden, or willingness to obtain (paid training)Certificate III in Security Operations, Control Room Skillset, or willingness to obtain (paid training)Successful medical assessments, drug and alcohol screening, and national police checks (paid pre-employment checks)Security clearance (desirable) or ability to obtain (clearances paid)#J-18808-Ljbffr
