OverviewTecolote Research Inc. is seeking a candidate to apply cost estimating experience and skills to perform special research and studies on a wide variety of cost reporting and data collection efforts. A successful candidate will use cost estimating techniques as a basis to develop conduct special research projects. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the cost estimating process with respect to Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems and have hands-on skills and experiences analyzing technical and cost information; developing and applying cost methodologies; using cost estimating models; and presenting and documenting analyses and results.ResponsibilitiesLeading or facilitating the leadership of a team to develop detailed analysis of CSDR reports.Develop requirements, document use cases, and design data collection models and templates.Perform cost estimating and software cost research studies.Develop white papers and document lessons learned on a variety of cost, software, and technical data collection topics.Engage with DoD Leadership to facilitate a sound analysis and reflect well on the team and the company as a whole.Exercising leadership skills within the analysis team to facilitate a sound analysis and development of team members to their fullest extent.Skills Required 10 years of cost estimating and analysis experiences supporting DoD, National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Intelligence Agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) customers.Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering, business, math or the sciences. Master's degree is desired.Certification in cost estimating by a recognized professional society/educational organization (i.e., ICEAA or DAWIA) is desired.Experience using MS Excel required. 4 years of experience using Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT), Software SEER-SEM, and/or Price is desired.Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills. The position requires the ability to work independently and in groups, in a fast-paced environment.Extensive knowledge of the DoD acquisition process, experience developing hardware and software cost estimating relationships and cost methodologies, work breakdown structures, cost research and analysis, building cost models, applying inflation, phasing, collecting and normalizing data, performing detailed risk analysis and documenting all results.Knowledge of MIL-STD-881F is a plus.Familiarity with database design and development is a plus.Familiarity with CSDR and associated policies is a plus.Secret security clearance is desired.U.S. citizenship is required.EducationBachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
