The unique blend of our leader's abilities and the ownership of their work, combined with our culture and values, creates something that is simply described as the Davis-Ulmer difference.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Learn and use design software for 2-D and 3-D drawings.Reads, interprets building construction documents such as drawings, specifications and other contract documentsPrepares fire protection shop drawings, specifications, equipment submittals and computer hydraulic calculations as needed for compliance with applicable fire protection codesPrepares equipment stock lists and fabrication lists for fabrication of fire protection piping and hangers and purchases material as necessarySurveys existing buildings for accurate, economical installation of fire protection systemsWorks closely with Design Manager, Sr. Designer, Project Managers, field staff and other employees throughout the companyAttends related training classes, courses and seminars as requested by supervisorOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Planning and problem-solving skillsStrong customer service skillsModerate to advanced computer skillsTime management, organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to read & analyze building construction documentsGood mathematical skillsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High school diploma / GED requiredAssociate's degree in CAD, Architecture Technology, Construction Management, Project Management Engineering, Fire Science or a related field preferredExperience, in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks is preferredCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Valid Driver's LicenseNICET certifications preferredAs part of the Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies, we believe that investing and empowering our employees as leaders develops an organization that delivers innovative solutions and services that create a superior customer experience.
