Location: West Valley Hospital, 525 SE Washington Street, Dallas, Oregon 97338Department: Emergency DepartmentPosition Type: Full Time, 36 hours/week, Non-ExemptSchedule: 1:00 pm - 1:00 am, three 12-hour shifts, variable scheduled daysYour role with usAs an acute care tech in the emergency department at West Valley Hospital, part of the Salem Health system, you'll play a key role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, community-focused environment. West Valley Hospital offers a close-knit team atmosphere where every action you take directly supports patients and contributes to smooth, efficient emergency care.Working under the direction of registered nurses and physicians, you'll assist with clinical procedures, perform essential support tasks, and help maintain a safe, organized, and compassionate environment for patients and families. Your ability to stay composed under pressure, think critically, and communicate effectively will be vital to both patient outcomes and team success.This position provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all areas of acute care while being part of a supportive team that values collaboration, growth, and exceptional patient service.What you'll doCollaborate with registered nurses (RNs) and providers to implement care plans, report patient progress, and monitor for changes in condition.Assist with emergency response situations (e.g., Code Blue, Full Trauma, STEMI, Stroke, Sepsis) and provide CPR, airway support, and post-mortem care as needed.Accurately perform and document clinical duties including vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, and specimen collection.Maintain and monitor cardiac telemetry devices and apply extended cardiac monitors post-training.Safely transport patients throughout the hospital and assist with interfacility transfers and helipad hand-offs.Support procedures by setting up sterile fields, assisting with line insertions and splinting, and immobilizing extremities.Monitor and maintain unit readiness through safety rounding, equipment checks, stocking, and regulatory supply management.Provide patient and family support through education on daily living activities (e.g., walker/crutch use) and reinforce RN-provided teaching.Uphold a clean and safe care environment by following infection control practices, disposing of biohazards properly, and reporting equipment issues.Act as a resource to new hires by providing training and peer support and participate in unit decision-making processes.Required qualificationsBasic Life Support (BLS).Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS).Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).Licensed Paramedic.Total rewards packageSalem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations and professional growth.
