Job DescriptionThe Associate General Counsel partners with leadership to provide strategic legal guidance across programs supporting public benefits and healthcare services. This role ensures compliance with federal and state laws, advises on contracts and procurement, supports eligibility and appeals matters, and drives policy development. The position works cross-functionally to manage risk, support audits and compliance initiatives, and deliver practical legal solutions in a fast-paced, public sector environment.Skills and Requirements5+ years of legal experience, including litigation or advising on state/federal lawStrong background in administrative law, healthcare law, or public benefitsExperience reviewing and drafting contracts, procurement documents, and agreementsExpertise in legal research, analysis, and writing (memos, policies, guidance)Experience advising on compliance, audits, and risk mitigation strategiesAbility to manage high-volume, complex workload and competing prioritiesStrong communication skills with ability to translate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholdersActive Arizona State Bar license in good standingExperience with health and human services programs or government agenciesExposure to home and community-based services (HCBS) or similar programsBackground supporting administrative hearings, appeals, or claims disputesExperience with policy development and rulemakingFamiliarity with public records laws and transparency requirementsPrior experience working directly with executive leadership or cross-functional teamsWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
