Job Responsibilities Veteran and Military Education Benefits – Serve as an Assistant School Certifying Official (SCO), ensuring accurate and timely certification of VA educational benefits in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.Student Engagement and Programming – Coordinate and facilitate student‑focused information sessions, workshops, and events supporting the academic, personal, and transitional needs of student Veterans and military‑connected students.Collaboration and Advocacy – Collaborate with colleagues across campus, including the Bursar's Office, Office of Financial Services, Academic Affairs, Career Development, Care and Support Services, and Enrollment Management, to advocate for military‑connected students and promote coordinated support services.Student Leadership and Advising – Serve as an advisor for student clubs and organizations affiliated with the VMFC, supporting leadership development, programming, and compliance with University policies.Administrative and Assessment – Assist with data tracking, reporting, and assessment related to program outcomes and student engagement.Job Requirements Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in higher education, counseling, social work, or a related field preferred.Experience working with Veterans, service members, or military‑connected populations.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse campus constituencies.Knowledge of VA educational benefits and certification processes (or willingness to obtain training).Preferred Qualifications Experience as a School Certifying Official or Assistant SCO.Prior work in college student services, advising, or program coordination.Familiarity with career development practices and employer engagement.Military service or strong understanding of military culture.Benefits Xavier University offers a wide array of complementary and affordable benefit options to meet the financial, educational, health, and wellness needs of employees and their families.
