Job DetailsJob Location: SAN ANTONIO TRAFFIC CONTROL - SAN ANTONIO, TX 78266Traffic Control Tech I positions require an applicant be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Texas driver's license. Unfortunately we do not currently have positions that do not require a driver's license.Pre-employment Drug Screen requiredResponsibilities and Tasks Installation and Maintenance: responsible for setting up and maintaining traffic control devices such as traffic signals, road signs, barriers, and pavement markings, including installation of new equipment and repair or replacement of damaged items.Traffic Management: during road construction, accidents, or other incidents, implement temporary traffic control measures to manage and redirect traffic safely, using cones, barrels, and signs to guide drivers.Inspection: conduct regular inspections of traffic control equipment to ensure everything is functioning properly, checking signal timing, visibility of signs, and condition of road markings.Coordination: work closely with municipal departments, construction crews, and law enforcement to plan and execute traffic control strategies during major roadwork or events that impact traffic flow.Compliance: ensure that all traffic control measures comply with state and federal regulations, including the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).Emergency Response: respond quickly to accidents or hazardous conditions to set up appropriate traffic control measures and prevent further incidents.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Capability to accept direction and feedback from the Traffic Control Crew Chief and follow through appropriately.Adaptability to changes in work tasks or environment.Ability to read, understand, and carry out written instructions and ask questions when unclear.Ability to read, understand, and carry out verbal instructions and ask questions when unclear.Positive attitude and mechanical aptitude for routine maintenance and repair on equipment.Map reading skills to navigate to job sites and return to the warehouse.Completes deliveries when needed.Knowledge of various tools and equipment used in the field with the ability to select the appropriate tool or equipment.Operation in an organized and time‑efficient manner.Clear and effective communication with others.Take initiative when exact direction has not been assigned.Ability to work extended hours, days, and weekends when necessary.Reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.Duties and Responsibilities Arrive at the shop/yard prepared to work at the beginning of the shift.Follow work instructions to ensure consistent service and product quality.Recommend measures to improve efficiency, service quality, product quality, and safety.Maintain all work areas, vehicles, and work sites in a neat and orderly fashion.Load and unload materials and equipment on site.Notify the Traffic Control Supervisor of any quality or safety related concerns.Demonstrate initiative by evaluating situations and making decisions based on facts and sound judgement.Act in a manner that represents the company's values and principles professionally.Perform other duties as assigned by the Traffic Control Supervisor.Benefits Paid Training.Opportunity to gain Traffic Control certification for Texas.Medical/Dental/Vision insurance offered after 60 days.Paid Time Off and Holidays after 90 days.401(k) with Company Match after 1 year.Employee Assistance Program.Free Uniforms and PPE.Barricades Unlimited is an EEO Employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
