This is a full-time position that will consist of 0.65 clinical FTE, working out of the UMMC Emergency Department, with 0.35 academic FTE reserved for research and other academic activities.Preferred candidates will have a strong foundation and career experience in assessment and treatment of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD). There is a significant need for specialized behavioral expertise to support ED staff in managing and de-escalating behavioral crises in NDD individuals promptly and effectively.Clinical Responsibilities:*Supervise Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBAs) and other staff in the coordination and direction of client intake and discharge activities*Supervise BCBAs and other staff in the coordination and direction of assessment and treatment procedures*Observe assessment and treatment sessions and develop solutions when progress is insufficient*Review and provide final approval of treatment materials, descriptions, and progress notes, as appropriate*Supervise BCBAs and related staff in the development and refinement of skill-acquisition programs*Supervise BCBAs and related staff in the development and refinement of behavior-reduction programs*Participate in a model of care centered on integrated, multidisciplinary services, with seamless collaborations with a treatment team that includes nursing, psychiatry, and care coordination.*Demonstrate a pattern of excellence and ongoing contributions in clinical care and consultation*Provide case management for patients such as conducting initial evaluations and triaging patients to services, as well as providing direct services (new patients, follows-ups)Research Responsibilities:*Conduct clinical research with patients who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and also engage in challenging behaviors*Develop new areas of clinical research investigation in collaboration with other members of the department*Obtain and maintain external funding to help support research*Publish research articles in peer-reviewed journals*Oversee the development of presentations for local, national, and international conferencesAdministrative Responsibilities:*Analyze data to maintain financial solvency*Hiring and training new employees*Developing, writing, and implementing policies and procedures for the program*Participating in outreach activities in the community*Direct and oversee compliance issues and responsible conduct of research Education of pre-doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows, and students in psychology, and other health- related professions during usual conduct of careQualificationsRequired Qualifications:Ph.D. or MD, Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.Preferred Qualifications:Strong foundation and career experience in assessment and treatment of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD).
