Description of Job Duties
This role offers significant leadership development benefits (e.g., event management, mentoring, communication, and collaborative work) while supporting LEV's mission. As an ambassador, the Graduate Assistant will assist in the following areas:
1. Work both remotely and in-person (Location: SBE building)
a) Schedule weekly check-in meetings to review progress, plan tasks, and discuss priorities
b) Commitment to personal leadership development
2. Assist or lead LEV-related programs, events and activities
a) Plan, support, and organize community hour events (T and Th 11:30-1:30)
b) Support periodic evening and signature events with set up and tear down, clean up after event.
c) Support student organizations as the graduate advisor
3. Assist with drafting and/or delivering communications such as the annual reports, newsletters, infographics, flyers and social media engagement.
4. Marketing efforts for our academic programs (MORG, LEV Fellows, Leadership concentration, Majors/Minors, student organizations, digital badging program, character certificate program, and student organizations under LEV).
6. Mentor student workers and support any events or tasks led by the student workers
7. Assist faculty with any administrative duties: take notes during meetings, make copies, develop and disseminate printed materials for LEV programs, etc.

Job Qualifications
1. Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College.
2. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaboratively.
3. Demonstrate professional communication by responding promptly to emails, meeting deadlines, and representing the LEV program with maturity and professionalism in all interactions with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners.
4. Maintain integrity, confidentiality of any sensitive program information, and demonstrate sound judgment
5. Comfort in leading groups and facilitating discussions.
6. Experience in event planning or student leadership preferred
7. Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills required.
8. Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
9. Intermediate skills using MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
10. Experience with Canva, Google Suite, and social media management.
Approximate number of work hours per week
20 hours per week during the academic year, excluding academic breaks
