The Gwinnett County Department of Corrections is the first accredited, government-owned correctional facility in Georgia. The mission is to promote community safety by maintaining a safe and secure environment that encourages positive change and provides quality services that make a difference.The Correctional Officer position is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of offenders and employees. The role assists in supervising offenders, exercising security to prevent escape, conducting routine cell inspections, strip searches, and confiscating contraband.Applicants must pass a comprehensive background process including fingerprinting and criminal, controlled substance, driving, and employment history checks. The first phase includes an assessment & oral interview.
