Overview
The Latchkey Group Leader assists with the development of the Afterschool After Hour Kid Power Program. This position will supervise and provide leadership for children participating in the afterschool program and ensure a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child development.
Responsibilities
• Address's any concerns expressed by the participants
• Redirects children to limit any possible disciplinary issues
• Monitors participants throughout the day while following the Minimal Standards policies
• Assists Senior Group Leader with any tasks needed in preparing play areas for participants
• Sets up age-appropriate stations for participants
• Sign-in all participants in their group
• Ensures all participants wash their hands prior to snack time
• Organizes indoor arts & crafts, games, and activities for all participants
• Ensures a first aid kit and watercooler is taken outside
• Makes sure parents show ID when signing out participants
• Ensures that there is constant communication with the Senior Group Leader, custodial, kitchen, and administrative staff at the school when issues arise
• Communicates daily with parents/guardians while providing excellent customer service
• Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
• Non-Exempt - TEMP Part-Time
• Must be available to work additional hours as needed
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma / GED
• No prior experience required
Preferred Qualifications
• Class C Driver's License
Licenses and Certifications

• Must be at least the age of eighteen (18) years or older
• CPR/First Aid Certification (Training provided by Department)

Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:

• Motor Vehicle Record Check: Yes
• Drug Screening: Yes

Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
