This is a travel heavy position and travel is within an assigned territory.The Loss Control Specialist is responsible for applying industry and general safety knowledge in the inspection of risks to eliminate or greatly reduce hazards that could lead to loss at prospective or existing policyholders. The Specialist will identify and evaluate risk factors, exposures, and hazards for multiple lines of business, while reporting results to Underwriting.Essential FunctionsConducting inspection and risk analysis of renewals and new business account operations including risk evaluation, loss analysis, and loss control programs within an assigned territoryObjectively considering issues and information, identifying alternatives, deciding and implementing solutions, in order to deliver services and provide valueApplying knowledge of negotiating techniques, subject matter, and strategy to obtain commitment, compromise, or settlement in a way that promotes mutual goals or interestProviding assistance to the policyholder in the form of detailed action plans, program recommendations, training, and consultative servicesBuilding positive relationships with agents and policyholdersTaking initiative to enhance loss control/industry knowledge through participation in training and educational programsActing as a technical resource for underwriting and the insuredConducting training programs, and performing inspections in territories as neededAdditional duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent insurance related experienceHigh level of skill and competency in IT, Microsoft products, and loss control systemsProficiency in effectively communicating in both written and verbal form responding to inquiries from policyholders, agents, vendors, and internal associatesAptitude for presenting various Company training programs to large groups of policy holders, agents, vendors, and internal associatesAbility to accurately perform basic mathematical functions as necessary to make projections, identify and analyze problemsAbility to solve practical and non-routine problems and deal with a number of variables where standardization may not existDemonstrated ability to effectively plan and organize work to achieve desired outcomesMust possess a valid driver's license issued by the state of residenceRewardsCompany vehicle provided for this positionThe ability to have a direct impact on the success of a small, but growing organizationOpportunities to grow and advance through our Personal Professional Development Program#J-18808-Ljbffr
