THOR Solutions, LLC is actively seeking a Mid-Level Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to provide technical expertise and training support for the U.S. Navy in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA. The ISD will be part of a Training Team responsible for the development of training curricula in support of customer and program objectives. This includes the development of training products using a systematic approach, adult learning theories, learning technologies, and industry best practices for instructional design.This is a temporary position, with an ASAP start and anticipated October 2026 end with a high chance of follow on work to be re-awarded.Typical ResponsibilitiesData analysis, Job Duty Task Analysis (JDTA), and Front End Analysis (FEA) for courseware development.Development of training material and assessments that meet specified Learning Objectives (LO) and goals.Needs analysis to determine the appropriate content.Selection of appropriate learning media to meet learning needs.Development of various training products, including Course Description Documents (CDD), Course Master Schedules (CMS), LOs, Trainee Guides (TG), PowerPoints (PPT), Lesson Plans (LP), and Job Sheets (JS).Ability to develop content using various authoring tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).Development of Checks on Learning, Test Plans, and valid test questions to support LOs.Use of Authoring Instructional Material (AIM) II, AIM Content Planning Module (CPM), and/or AIM Learning Object Module (LOM).Strong Quality Assurance (QA) skills for all training products.Maintenance of accurate training product records and files.LocationFull time onsite at THOR office in Virginia Beach, VA.TravelUp to 15% travel is anticipated.Typical Physical ActivityPrimarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision.Typical Pay RangeThe anticipated pay for this position in the identified location(s) is $70,000 - $75,000/year. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.Existing SECRET Security Clearance RequiredThis position requires an existing active or interim Secret security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
