GC&E Systems Group is seeking an experienced Electronic Security Technician II to support the installation, configuration, and testing of commercial electronic security systems. This mid‑level technician performs device installation, cable routing, terminations, equipment mounting, and basic system setup with increasing independence. The Technician II supports senior technicians and Project Managers by executing field tasks accurately, safely, and in accordance with project specifications.The Technician II demonstrates solid technical competency across CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, intercoms, electronic locking hardware, wireless locks, and copper/fiber cabling. While not a lead role, the Technician II is expected to work independently on routine tasks, assist with system commissioning, and contribute to troubleshooting under the guidance of a Technician III or IV.Essential Job FunctionsInstall electronic security devices, including cameras, card readers, panels, sensors, intercoms, and electronic locking hardware, in accordance with engineered drawings and project requirements.Perform cable routing, pulling, labeling, dressing, and termination for copper and fiber cabling systems.Assist with basic system programming, device enrollment, and initial configuration under the direction of a senior technician.Conduct basic system testing, device verification, and functional checks to ensure proper installation and operation.Support troubleshooting efforts by identifying common installation issues and assisting senior technicians with more complex problems.Maintain clear communication with Project Managers, senior technicians, subcontractors, and on‑site stakeholders.Review job files, drawings, and specifications to understand installation requirements and prepare for daily tasks.Ensure all assigned work is completed safely, accurately, and within established quality standards.Complete required documentation, including timesheets, service acknowledgements, material transfers, and basic test results.Assist with in‑house assembly, equipment staging, and system pre‑configuration activities as needed.Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in clean and serviceable condition.Provide support to Technicians I by demonstrating proper installation techniques and safe work practices.Participate in preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs), documenting findings and reporting issues requiring corrective action.Represent GC&E professionally during customer interactions, maintaining a courteous and service‑oriented approach.Perform additional duties assigned by management to support project and organizational objectives.Candidate RequirementsValid driver's license and acceptable driving record.Ability to travel as required and work during standard or assigned hours.Working knowledge of access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems through field experience or formal training.Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, riser diagrams, and device layout drawings.Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and digital measurement tools.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.Good written and verbal communication skills.Typically, 4‑9 years of experience installing and supporting electronic security systems.Ability to work independently on routine tasks and accept guidance on more complex assignments.Preferred Experience & CertificationsExperience or certifications with the following manufacturers are a plus: Genetec, Software House, Hirsch, Avigilon, Axis Communications, Hanwha Vision, Honeywell IDS, Open Options, Bosch IDS.Technical College training.BICSI Installer 1 or Installer 2 certification preferred.Manufacturer training in access control, CCTV, or IDS.Basic understanding of IP networking (PoE, addressing, connectivity).Experience with cloud‑based physical security platforms.Physical RequirementsAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working on ladders or lifts.Ability to use PPE and work safely around electrical and construction environments.Ability to operate a motor vehicle and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods.BenefitsGC&E offers a competitive benefits package to include paid holidays, paid time off including sick and vacation leave, medical, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, short and long term disability, company paid life insurance, 401(k) with a company match and discretionary profit sharing and tuition reimbursement.#J-18808-Ljbffr
