The Alternate FSO (Facility Security Officer) is responsible for supporting the FSO in overseeing security measures within Mtron, ensuring the security of personnel, sensitive information, and compliance with all security regulations.

Position Summary:
The Alternate FSO (Facility Security Officer) is responsible for supporting the FSO in overseeing security measures within Mtron, ensuring the security of personnel, sensitive information, and compliance with all security regulations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct security measures necessary for implementing the applicable requirements of Mtron's "Facility Security Officer (FSO)" Procedure, or equivalent, and related security requirements to ensure the protection of classified information.
- Perform security operations per Mtron's "Facility Security Officer (FSO)" Procedure, or equivalent, as assigned by FSO. These can be as follows:
- Process visit requests, badges, etc.
- Utilize security software such as DISS (Defense Information System for Security), and other per FSO requirements
- Assist with all aspects for personnel security clearances
- Assisting with security briefings and training with personnel as well as key management personnel
- Performing self-inspections as needed
- Updating procedures and documents as required
- Performing random baggage checks as assigned
- Assisting with orientation for newly hired cleared personnel
- Perform travel briefings as required
- Perform safe briefings as required
- Log all classified documents and ensure compliance with handling
- Ensure proper handling and shipping of all classified products and materials
- Assisting with the Company's Insider Threat Plan (ITPSO)
- Oversee classified shipments
- Supports the FSO
- May manage day-to-day activities
- Participate in security audits/assessments.
- o Maintain and keep track of classified documents located at the Security Office.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in work output
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- Self-starter with a proactive and accountable work style
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Must possess an active U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance or current eligibility to reinstate and be able to maintain clearance eligibility.
- Must be able to complete required Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) training
- 2+ years of experience in trade compliance
- Prior (DOD) Security Officer experience preferred
- Experience with industrial security procedures, namely specific procedures for Mtron
- Mtron's "Facility Security Officer (FSO)" Procedure, or equivalent
- Mtron's "Industrial Security Standard Practice" Procedure, or equivalent
- Mtron's "Classified Material Handling" Procedure, or equivalent
- Others as required
- Complete security training pursuant to 32 CFR 117.12 and as deemed appropriate by the Cognizant Security Agency (CSA).
- This role is performed on-site and primary an in-office, along with secure facility environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasionally standing, walking, or moving within the office or production department areas.
- Must adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
