Position: 911 DispatcherHiring range: $28.06 – $31.58 per hour, plus a $5,000 hiring bonus for laterals.As a 911 Dispatcher with the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center, you will contribute to the safety of our community by receiving incoming calls and performing dispatching activities for police, fire, and ambulance services. We offer training and advancement opportunities and are committed to providing the highest quality of service.ResponsibilitiesReceive and triage emergency calls for police, fire, ambulance, and other emergency services.Collect essential information from callers, including location, medical details, and nature of the emergency.Coordinate and relay assistance requests to the appropriate law‑enforcement, fire, or emergency‑medical agency.Operate telephone and text lines and maintain accurate dispatch records.Provide real‑time updates and assistance to agencies while on the scene.Participate in shift meetings and briefings to discuss operational status and priorities.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Ability to work varying shifts, including day, swing, graveyard, holidays, and weekends as assigned.Ability to work required overtime when necessary.Pass a background investigation that meets all local, state, and federal requirements.Eligibility to pass Computerized Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA) and a required oral board interview.Clear criminal history in accordance with the Colorado Job Application Fairness Act.Disqualifying convictions include any felony or crime of violence (e.g., assault, domestic violence).Benefits32 days of paid annual leave, usable for personal or sick days.11 paid holidays.Health insurance options, including access to the City employee health clinic.Employer‑matched retirement contribution.Child‑care center and wellness program.Employee Assistance Program.Access to the Sage Health & Wellness Center for preventive care and health assessments.Opportunities for outdoor recreation and community service projects.In compliance with the Colorado Job Application Fairness Act, we kindly request completion of attendance or graduation details on your application, resume, or attachments.
