Description
Position Summary
This position is responsible for executing a daily plan for movement of all freight within an assigned area.
Essential Functions
- Partner with terminal manager to plan and carry out shipping operations
- Monitor daily delivery schedule for drivers
- Organize and sort incoming mail and paperwork
- Verify driver paperwork for each load
- Image/Scan documents into the dispatch system
- Data entry of driver detention pay, calculate hourly pay, layovers, breakdowns
- Receive orders from customers and create loads in dispatch system
- Provide frontline customer service for existing accounts
- Answer all incoming phone calls promptly and courteously
- Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor e-mail for incoming orders, communication between team members
- Admin support including payroll and billing
- On-call duties as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of dispatching experience
- Excellent conflict resolution and skills
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
