Duties

Help

As a Supervisory Equipment Specialist, you will:

  • Assign and review work, evaluate employee performance, and manage all personnel-related actions to build an effective and productive unit.
  • Perform lifecycle cost-benefit analysis on fleet assets to develop strategic recommendations for equipment replacement, procurement, or leasing that provide the most economic value to the organization.
  • Oversee the development and updating of standard fleet processes and procedures and present recommendations to leadership and customers regarding changes to fleet policies, standards, and systems to improve organizational efficiency and functionality.
  • Provide technical advice on all applicable policies, mandates, and federal and state laws to support a fleet and fuel management program and decision making.
  • Direct the analysis of fleet data to ensure its validity and identify opportunities for maximizing equipment utilization and supportability across internal and external customer groups.
  • Make decisions on the direction of fleet program activities in order to maintain a colloborative relationship between the fleet organization and business partners.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) analyzing equipment lifecycle data, including maintenance and operational costs, to perform cost-benefit analyses and recommend strategies for asset procurement, replacement, or leasing; 2) leading equipment analysis or fleet management and providing guidance on fleet policy and operations; and 3) developing technical and performance specifications for various fleet programs and providing policy or procedural recommendations to management regarding fleet operations.

"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
