Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Advanced‑Career Systems Engineer to join the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team. The engineer will be responsible for designing and certifying missile defense technology that could change the way we deter and respond to conflict.Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as Deputy IPT Lead for the NGI SEIT team providing leadership, strategic planning, execution and management of tasks/efforts.Lead and coordinate with a multidisciplinary engineering team, including but not limited to Aero, Thermal, Separation Dynamics, Loads, Stress, Trajectory Design, NG&C, FSW, Mechanical Design, Mechanical Integration, Initiation, Instrumentation/Telemetry, TPS, and Ground Test.Conduct regular working meetings, maintain a schedule, and track action item closure.Support major program reviews including SRR, PDR, and CDR.Establish proper configuration and version control during rapid modeling revisions.Ensure sufficient analytical predictions are issued ahead of flight test to support post‑flight analyses.Orchestrate trade studies to inform changes to hardware, design, and mission architecture to improve robustness and reliability.Support the identification, derivation, verification and validation of requirements.Develop Specification and Interface Control Documents.Identify, maintain, and mitigate risks associated with the AUR development.Coordinate and conduct frequent Customer and Senior Leadership briefings as required.Support missile system analyses for mission planning, execution, and testing at various ranges (travel may be required).Basic Qualifications:Missile Development Technical Leadership Experience.Experience collaborating and leading multi‑functional teams.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.Desired Skills:Strong interpersonal skills.NGI and GMD experience and technical knowledge.Experience throughout the engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test, and operational deployment).Significant experience in one or more Systems Engineering functions including Requirements Development, M&S, Performance Analysis, or System Design & Integration.Experience with Missile Defense Agency customers.Experience with Digital Engineering/Digital Transformation.Experience leading strategic enterprise initiatives.Experience as an IPT Lead.Active or current DoD TS/SCI security clearance.Technical degree(s) from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education with professional experience and training.Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen.
