Intermittent (part-time) Background Investigator

Conduct federal background investigations and prepare reports of investigations in compliance with Federal Investigative Standards, laws, and other required federal agency regulations. Work cases throughout the geographic area of responsibility and travel to various places of employment, residence and education institutions.Candidate must be local to Lancaster or Palmdale, California.The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 - $45.00 per hour, determined based on experience, education, and contract requirements.Qualifications U.S. CitizenshipHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 1 year of investigations experience within the last five (5) years at federal, state, or local government levelDirect experience with the Federal Investigative Standards (FIS)Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and satisfactory driving recordWillingness to travel on temporary duty assignments by car or plane as neededSuccessful completion of background checks and required trainingAbility to solve practical problems and address a variety of variables where limited standardization existsAbility to interpret instructions in oral, written, diagrammatic, or schedule formAbility to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsStrong writing skills for reports and business correspondenceProficiency with Microsoft Office and the MS Windows operating environmentCurrent (within the last two years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Secret level security clearance and ability to obtain the required clearanceResponsibilities Conduct in-person, one‑on‑one subject interviews to obtain factual information about the individual's background and character, in accordance with agency guidelines and instructions.Obtain factual information from a variety of personal and record sources to produce a comprehensive report of investigation.Travel throughout the geographic area of responsibility to conduct investigations at various employment, residence, and educational institutions as cases become available.Be willing to travel in and around the assigned location within 30‑50 miles (or more) as needed.Engage in regular dialogue with managers, contractor representatives, U.S. government organizations, and law enforcement agencies to develop and maintain effective working relationships.Adapt to changing situations and environments and interact with people from all walks of life and socioeconomic levels.Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and exhibit a professional demeanor in all situations.Perform intermittent standing, writing/typing, walking, sitting, and driving throughout the workday as required.Perform additional duties as assigned.Benefits Constellis offers a comprehensive total rewards package that includes competitive compensation and a flexible benefits package reflecting its commitment to creating a diverse and supportive workplace.#J-18808-Ljbffr
