Part-Time Gate Attendant
Elkhart County Parks & Recreation is hiring for a part-time gate attendant. The hiring rate is $16.75/hour with no benefits offered. The position will be filled as soon as possible. The hours and days of work may vary, with an emphasis on weekends and evenings, though other times may be available. Approximately 18 hours a week. The primary location is Ox Bow County Park, with other parks as needed.
The job summary includes collecting entrance and other special fees, assisting visitors with park and department information, performing basic data collection and entry services, and minimal custodial duties within the gatehouse. Relevant information will be received and communicated to Ranger and Maintenance staff as needed.
Job requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a minimum age of 21, a valid driver's license, the ability to work independently and make decisions based on policy and prior information, knowledge, or instruction, the ability to work and communicate professionally and clearly with the public and as a team with other staff through verbal and written means, cash handling skills and Point-of-Sale system operation, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel). A pre-employment background check and drug screen are also required.
