Job Summary Under the direction of the Supervisor, Transportation, the Senior Traffic Control Specialist is responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, transporting passengers via commercial and VIP vehicles, and performing valet attendant duties. The specialist assists leadership with the day‑to‑day shift operations of the Transportation department to ensure a seamless best‑in‑class service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitors and directs all vehicle movement to minimize congestion and maintain efficient traffic flow in parking structures and roadways. Utilizes signs, flags, and hand signals to regulate traffic, identify bottlenecks, and ensure safe vehicle and pedestrian crossings. Communicates occupancy, safety hazards, and congestion levels to leadership.Adheres to valet operational protocols while performing attendant duties. Operates all guest and company vehicles in accordance with California Vehicle Code. Delivers best‑in‑class service, meeting company standards and ensuring guest satisfaction.Adheres to all California State and Federal transportation rules and regulations governing passenger carriers. Operates shuttles with maximum regard for safety and welfare. Completes daily pre‑trip/post‑trip vehicle safety inspections (Daily Vehicle Inspection Report) and reports vehicle conditions that may affect safety. Updates management on vehicle repairs, parking lot status, business operations, supplies, and guest concerns.Conducts all guest interactions with hospitality and professionalism. Provides an enthusiastic greeting, uses the guest's name, anticipates needs, and conveys a sincere thank you and farewell.Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.Driving Responsibilities Authorized Driver: The role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, as determined by the insurance carrier, is required.Educational, Experience, and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum of two (2) years of driving experience required.Previous customer service experience preferred.Related or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational requirements.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Ability to operate vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions preferred.Basic vehicle maintenance experience preferred.Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations May be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license at the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission.Must have or obtain a California Commercial Driver's License, Class C or higher, with a passenger endorsement.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions The primary work environment is outdoor, non‑office setting, including extreme desert weather (rain, wind, heat, etc.). The position requires working evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, traveling for meetings, trade shows, and conferences, and performing tasks such as lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally or up to 40 pounds occasionally. Responsibilities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
