Traffic Control Tech

Summary: A Traffic Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians on roadways. They install, maintain, and operate traffic control devices, such as signals, signs, and crosswalk markings. Their duties include
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct the flow of machinery and vehicle on roads and the work site
- Coordinate, setup, manage, and remove traffic control
- Use stop signs and signals to guide vehicles and pedestrians around construction sites and work zones.
- Familiar with MUTCD traffic control setup
- Carry and load materials to be used on the job
- Monitoring road conditions, they assess road conditions and take corrective action to ensure safety, such as closing roads and diverting traffic
- Follow all company safety policies and practices
- Assist in hauling equipment to and from job site
- Clean up and restore work area
- Maintain all traffic control equipment to prevent accidents and injuries
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Education and Qualifications:
- Good verbal communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid DOT Health Card
Preferred Skills:
- Class A Driver's License (CDL)
Physical Demands:
- Must be physically fit to endure the daily activity involved with the job
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
Pay Scale:
$20/hr - $35/hr
